Welcome to the 8th Tórshavn Bridgefestival 25th-28th FEBRUARY 2027.

Tournament format

The tournament is an open Swiss pairs tournament. 

Thursday 25h February 2027. A cosy warm up tournament held in the Bridgehúsið in Tórshavn. Tournament starts at 19.00. Registration on site before 18.30 or at a link that will be posted here as well as on facebook.

Friday 26th and saturday 27th February 2027. Main tournament with 95 boards. Tournament starts at 16.00 friday and continue on 9.00 Saturday. After the tournament a festival dinner will be held at 19.00. (this is included in the tournament fee)

Sunday 28th Februar 2027. A friendly farewell tournament held in the same place as the main tournament. Starts at 19.00, registration no later than 18.30 or at link that will follow here later.

 

Venue

The tournament venue is at the sports centre of Tórshavn, at the Dansifrøi, which translates to The Joy of Dance, so lets all have joy and make the cards dance.

Organiser

Faroese Bridgefederation (www.bridge.fo) organizes the tournament. The coordinator is Jákup Sørensen, e-mail jakupsoerensen@gmail.com

Prizes

The award for the first place  is two times-two flights with Atlantic Airways on their northern routes and 2 nights in a double room at the Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, with three-course dinner at Restaurant Hallartún (at the hotel) and free attendance at Tórshavn Bridgefestival in 2028. (Total value approx DKK 8.000 pr. player).

The award for second place is a DKK 2,000 gift certificate from Fonnflog travel agency pr player, as well as free attendance at Tórshavn Bridgefestival in 2028. (Value DKK 3.900 pr player)

Third place gets free attendance at Tórshavn Bridgefestival in 2028 (Value DKK 1.950 pr. player)

And there are also some prizes for section winner and other 'fun' prizes spread trough the tournament.

Registration, travels and cost

We offer package deals that include flights, hotel, airport transfers in the Faroes and the tournament fee, which covers a light meal Friday night, lunch on Saturday and the banquet dinner on Saturday night. During the tournament itself, water and coffee/tea will be available (free) at the venue. It is also possible to buy extra nights at the hotel for those who wish to stay longer.

Once you have payed the package you are automatically registered for the main tournament.

Sunday is tourday. Our tours are arranged in cooperation with local company Faroe Voyage www.faroevoyage.fo. More information about the tours will be available soon. Guests arriving early and guests who bring along non bridgeplaying guests are welcome to contact Faroe Voyage for options on tours on the other days.

ONLY TOURNAMENT:
